Is there a close AM 1997 Penny ? I saw some adds for this penny for sale for $48,000 . I can not find any record for this penny. I have looked at several 1997 penny and they are all close AM . Have I missed something or are there people who buy this kind of thing ?
they should all be close am in 1997 ,You want the 1998 wide am, 1998 S close am, ahh there is a bunch to list, you can find the hard ones on websites. too many varieties to list here, or buy a blue or red book, do some checking so you know what to look for. Keep looking.
What someone lists something for and what it actually sells for (or doesn’t even sell) are two completely different things. I can list my house for $5,000,000 if I want. Doesn’t mean anyone will buy it at that price.
I told you what your missing, before you changed the question, that's a normal penny worth one cent, if you can find someone to buy it. they are all close am, that year.
