Thank you for the feedback. Would be helpful if the images in the original thread were viewable to me. There is a chance they were describing the same marks. If the person from the original thread has the same markings it would be a huge coincidence. To my understanding a variety is a die pair with distinct marking that are not part of the original design which make of significant difference. A Roosevelt's flared cocaine nostril and an extra flame is pretty significant. If there are others out there that no one has noticed with the same marks where 100's or 1000's were minted from something like a late stage die issue, would that make this a variety? There are several reasons why it could have gone unnoticed. The modern dime isn't as collectable and people are not looking for the varieties like they do for pennies, nickels and quarters. The details are so small and fine that it is easily over-looked, besides that it's the same design and not much has been done with the design to spark the collectors interest. The penny, nickel and quarter have had many facelifts and has added a spark for the collectability and variety hunting of newer age American coinage. I know there are others that hate looking through dimes and that very rarely RH through dimes likeamyself. Even though I look at all denomination pocket change the typical collector probably does not.
