1997 p dime error?

    The last picture has been altered to try in show a better close up.. sorry if the pics are not great.. I was given this dime assuming it was an error.. can anyone give me your opinion.. please n thank u

    My opinion is damage. It took a hit after it left the Mint.

    It doesn't take much to move the coin metal around. So, you can find this sort of damage to letters and numbers on different denominations.
