I do have a nice 49-S, plus all the 55's. I just picked up a 57-D, and am waiting a confirmation on a 51-P, so hopefully that will make it 31 out of 48. Nice white 67's seem to be harder to find than the usual blotchy toned ones. IMHO, any graded 67 should not be UGLY, but that's another thread.

 

If you looked at this auction wouldn't you assume it was the "full" Mint Set. I received it today and the "w" dime wasn't included.

Look at what it said 1996 "P" and "D" mint set. You never assume anytime. If it had said, mint set, then all coins should have been in it as issued. Sorry. -O)

 

I agree. The seller went out of his way to say "P" and "D" mint set although he probably shouldn't have mentioned that it didn't include the "W" dime. On the other hand, he may not have known that it was part of the set. I didn't know that I had them in my sets until I opened them up again. This was a very helpful thread for me.

 

I just think it was intentionally deceptive. The description starts out 1996 mint set. I received everything in the original envelope including the COA and the pamphlet explaing the "w" dime.

 

Ouch! Personally I don't think it was deceptive, but why did he keep the pamphlet in there? That part wasn't very smart. Ask if you can return it. It would be nice if every seller said "without W mint dime", but unfortunately they don't. Keep an eye out and good luck returning it. I don't think you will have a problem

 

It may not be deceptive on the part of the seller. He may not have read the pamplet. He has less 90 transactions and it is possible that the seller is not a coin person. On the other hand, his current rating is 80%. I haven't seen to many ratings that low. It could suggest that he is a little devious.

 

No picture, no buy.

 

Caveat emptor, let the buyer beware.......and I believe the auction to be purposely deseptive.

 

This is the response I got from the seller after I contacted him and told him I thought his description was deceiving. I did leave him negative feedback because I'm tired of this kind of deception. He did offer to refund my money, but this is exactly how these kind of sellers work to try to keep their feedback rating high.

"I SEE THAT YOU LEFT ME NEG. FEEDBACK---YOU GOT TO BE SOME KIND OF KID..WHAT ABOUT 9 YEARS OLD..I BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 15 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A BAD FEEDBACK==IF YOU WANT YOUR 8.00 JUST SAY SO---YOU GOT TO BE SOME KIND OF JERK????"

 

I've never sold anything on Ebay but negitive feedback is very important to most of them and I bet for a $8 item that disturbs him alot. There are alot of people that thought it was deceptive and and lot that thought not.
I saw it both ways. If he had knowledge of the W dime then you were right but many dont know about it. Heck I've collected coins for years and didnt know until this thread so it is quite possible that he didnt know anything.
IMO it seems harsh to leave that unless there is more to the story that I dont know.
But that's just my opinion.

 

Ok, he is now being totally deceptive. He has an 80% feedback rating with 88 transactions (17 negative feedbacks in just 88 transactions!). His sentence structure suggests a lack of good education for someone that must be older than 20 (15 years in the business). IMHO, stick a fork in him.
