At the last Long Beach show, I purchased 12 1996 Mint sets from a single dealer for $130 ($10.83 per set).  That's a great price for just the dime, but the Mint sets also include $1.82 face value in other coins.  Accordingly, if I wanted to I could spend those other coins and bring the cost of the dimes down to $9.01 each.  Even better, if I sold the sets intact at a local show or local coin club meeting, but just without the dime, I bet I could get more than just face value, even further reducing my cost basis in the dime.
