It looks like a RRDC. I almost missed it. It's so fine, it's barely noticeable. I thought it was a scratch. The crack seems to be worn smooth on his lapel. For your viewing pleasure.
Interesting! Having found several error progressions when searching Mint bags, whenever I see something like this, I always wonder what a progression might have looked like if this had been found in a 5,000-coin bag. Chris
Can you expand on that thought? Do you mean the coin would have suffered significant damage if found in a 5k coin bag?
No, I'm just saying that it's possible to find multiple specimens in a large bag as opposed to, say, a roll or mint set. Sometimes, those specimens can be exactly the same, and sometimes they can be an earlier, later or even a terminal die state. For example, when I was searching Mint bags of 1999P GA SQ's, I found 37 specimens that formed a progression in the growth of 3 die cracks on the obverse. I knew all of them came from the same die because all had a kidney-shaped die break on Washington's neck. When you find something like this, you always hope that you might also find one in a terminal die state (shattered die). I didn't, but it was still fun going through the bags hoping to find one. Chris
I just checked. I don't see a 95 listed. http://cuds-on-coins.com/rim-to-rim-die-cracks-on-u-s-coins-2/
