This 1995-D 5c has a very interesting defect..my hunch is this may be a straight clip, but, the cut did NOT go thru the entire planchet, leaving the lower half of the planchet metal to be pressed...an incomplete partial straight clip????? The cut areas at either end, ( above TY, and 995) are very smooth and clean(NO shearing), which is a marker for clipped planchets.... ...there are NO plier marks on rim(unlike man-made garage jobs that have fooled me in the past!), and, the rim shows a sunken look in the area, for whatever reason. I look foward to all of your opinions on this one!

I think that one lost the fight. Looks like Post Mint Damage to me also. But the problem with badly damaged coins is, that even if they are "errors", the condition keeps the values very low. So much, that I don't even bother checking the banged up coins any more. IMHO

First, welcome to the neighborhood, Damien!

It's best if you start your own thread, and be sure to post clear photos of both sides of the coin.

Metal stamp. You can buy them in various sizes, letters, numbers, symbols or even have custom ones made. There's no telling what the numbers refer to, probably the only person that can tell you that is the person that stamped it
