like I say, it's circulated. look at the 5 at the point where the vertical meets the round bottom, there are 2 points there. I see everything matching here, and the places in the letters where it is worn, it looks the correct size... I'm waiting for the hammer to fall: It can't be because ___________. Also, MD is flat & shelf-like, there isn't really any separation here. Just thicker letters/numbers and like a hairline down the middle.

#10

desertgem

View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries View Articles Add as Contact

Senior Errer Collecktor

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Join Date

Jul 2008

Posts

4,975

Liked

6 times

My Mood

No the one in the CPG is DDO, and DDR as well. Yours is machine doubling. Look at the 3rd of the most recent photos and look at the 9 compared to the one in CPG. See in the CPG ,how both of the doubled portions are about the same height, and in yours, the one to the side is flattened compared to the normal height one.Same for "In God We Trust".That is a sign of MD, as in a DDO, both hubbings of the working (DDO) die would be same pressure and should be the same depth, so the resulting image on the coin should show both doubles about the same height. Often, you might see a thickened letter or number with a shallow line on the surface marking the separation.

Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t143334/#ixzz1NinKLa00

this was an older thread where it was explained to me... hope I'm understanding correctly and right this time!
