    Hi all,
This one stuck out like a sore thumb, but being new to collecting, let me know if this is a double D. I have looked at it several angles. Thanks!

No.. it is not a Double D.. Not a RPM nor Doubled Die.
    Just a Split Plating issue.

The cents are plated before striking. When they do get struck the playing tends to tear or split away, exposing the zinc underneath. If you look closer, there are probably other areas like this on the coin as well. Very very common issue with zincolns.

I appreciate the input. Is there a good place/source to find what all of the terms mean, and the best way to search? I need a hobby. I'd rather be spending time with money, than spending it! It's already reelled me in. I've been a laboratory technician using a microscope for many years, so I'm pretty meticulous.

    Hi Paddyman98
Thanks for the website. I just found this 93 zincoln in change. At first I thought lamination peel but now I’m thinking possible circulation damage? What do you think. Thanks

You're right, it's damage. When the copper plating is breached the zinc core will corrode. Just like a scratch on the fender of your car will start to rust.
