Please.... the point is the OP was told what he had, declined to believe it, and then went on a spiel about exactly how this non-error was minted. We were more than happy to inform him of the truth. He just chose not to believe it.
Maybe the OP doesn't know that this forum is full of folks that would rather enjoy the discovery right along with them. There is no agenda here to refute an identifiable error that anyone in the world would post.
And that's fine, and the way it should be. The problem is, for every legimate error posted, there are a hundred non-errors posted, and it becomes a project to try and convince the owners that their coin is PMD. The OP in this case had already made up his mind his coin was a mint error, and simply refused to listen to reason.
I've seen this same markings on hundreds of coins, it's from coin counting machines connected to the CoinStar booths that you can find at any grocery store. But keep on looking! The only way to find a new discovery error coin is by trial and error! GOOD LUCK!!!
What's a matter with you Dave? Didn't you know that "this is an extremely rare 1993 D double die with a halo mint mark.. maybe the only one ever known to exist..."
As per the Rules, you can dis a coin, but not a member, so lets turn the sarcasm down a notch, and Blindbow, you are certainly welcome to argue as to the coin, but you asked for opinions and received them, so accept them in appreciation or silence as they are honest opinions, and unfounded disagreement doesn't help.
