Why'd you have to tell him that? I'd love to buy it for $2k, take some real pictures, and make some money.

Heck, I'd send it off to Todd.

Looking at the pictures you've provided with this coin, I would recommend hiring a professional photographer to photograph the coin for the auction.

What you get for it depends on whether at least two bidder want it bad enough.

I've sold a pack of playing cards for several hundred dollars because I listed it at the time two desperate bidders were on line. Frenzied bidding drove the price up. A few weeks later an identical pack was listed and sold for under $10.

And..... Last fall a fairly rare Canadian banknote was listed and the seller refused to ship to Canada. It sold for $47 instead of $3000 which an identical one sold for (to a Canadian collector) just a few months earlier.

Even though your coin may be "valued" at $10,000, it depends on a lot of factors to get that price for it.

I have a rare banknote that is "worth" at least $10,000 but so far the highest offer is $8,000. That tells me that the note's actual value isn't really $10,000 in the marketplace (at this time).

so true. I loaded a box of broken/missing parts/batteries etc junk cordless tools to 70 pounds and put it up for auction and it sold for a dollar to a guy in Canada. eBays calculator messed up with shipping charges and buyer agreed to cancel auction. I relisted a couple months later and 3 bidders drove it up to $100 bucks plus shipping. go figure.

Did NCS take the corrosion off the reverse of this coin?

It appeared to have some corrosion at around 11 on the reverse.

I don't wanna use the ha.com site because it looks to me like it was expensive, lots of paperwork to file, they wanna charge you
money to tell you whats it worth, and looks to time consuming.
Ebay attracts more people, cheaper, quicker, easier than going through people, and people don't have to travel to go to a auction site to bid.
I'm working on getting it listed for Saturday night. I will not post a Ebay link for my auction here on this site....
unless you people want me too / and its not against any of the rules. I'm new to the site so I'm not sure if
we are allowed to post Ebay auction links here....someone please reply back and let me know if its ok to post Ebay links.
    Thanks

    thanks again Merc.
I'm new here, so for the people who think I post bold to ****
people off, I'm not. I didn't know Bold Type would bother people.
No more Bold here, Ok .

I will take several better pictures of the coin of course before listing it.
I will also post pictures here so members here can view it.

I decided not to do a bidding auction but to do a Buy-it-now or Best Offer auction on Ebay.
I will post here when coin auction is live on Ebay with the new pictures of course.
I will not post a auction link....but if someone is interested they can request a link from me
    by posting here.
yes Merc I will PM you a link.
    thanks

dang dude. Asking $25,000 is one thing, but you should at least offer free shipping in stead of charging an extra $40. Believe it or not it makes a difference - people are stupid, it's a mental thing.

Dude!.....You've got to get a better picture up on your auction listing! One of the reasons for failed auctions is bad pics.

    Bad pics = suspicion.

We all wish you the best of luck, but follow basic rules!

(sorry for the bold print.....I got carried away.:D)
