How about all the doubling is it worth anything?

The doubling was caused by the same plating issues. Notice that it is to the left of LIBERTY and to the right of the date. That is caused by metal movement during the strike. That movement caused the copper plating to release from the zink core.

Does that make it a mechanical error? Being not worth anything?

It is a die deterioration issue. Considered worthless.

Some people try to sell them on ebay as a doubled die which is totally untrue.

And it's a wide AM. Not a close AM

This knowledge can get really complex to write out.
in short, the Metal Die is getting worn down from the continuous metal (die) to metal (planchet) strikes. Thus it starts wearing in areas - this wear is called die deterioration. This is then causing issues with the completeness and accuracy of the stamped image in comparison to a pristine example. Since the modern cent has a 8 micron thin copper plate over a zinc core all sort of oddities are happening.

You must be getting your info from YouTube! The coins you are thinking you're finding are very rare.

Welcome to Coin Talk. Scroll to the very top (or bottom) of the page and click on the FORUMS box. The 4th one down shows "Frequently Asked Questions". Click on that, scroll down and you will find the question and answer on how to post photos.
