I also have a 1992 penny that i took to a coin shop. The guy at the coin shop took quite a long time just to refference it. He looked at about 4 books but couldnt find anything. So he told me that he's never seen or heard anything like it before. But he said that it sure looked double died.
You should post your own unique thread with some clear pictures of both sides of the Cent. The correct term is Doubled Die not Double Died

I've made references to the exact coin in question before on my IG account. Had someone ask me about it,and it's not a doubled die. Split plate doubling, die deterriation doubling are more then likely the culprits.
