Well, for the record, I never said his coin looked like machine doubling... I said from the start that machine doubling atleast created a raised edge albeit shelf-like and that his coin was from something different... I also stand by what I said that I prefer the term plate doubling for what I have seen though I know it is not the technical term for it... My point being that the plating at the very edges of nearly every device on the coin has a 'stretched appearance'... It does appear to me that it would have the same root cause as the PSD as you reference... I have read about the DDD and PSD and I fail to see how a deteriorated die would have that effect on the plating... But I will look into it further to determine if I can wrap my brain around that one... Thanks for the info...
