1992 cent why is this font bigger?

    On the reverse side it seems to be a much bigger font under the normal font, is it?

    No... at least if I understand you correctly, what you're talking about has nothing to do with design. To my eyes the coin appears to display plating issues perhaps mixed with a little strike doubling.

    I believe die deterioration is causing the apparent change you see in the font. Why only on one side you might say? When dies wear after 100,000's of cycles or more, or when a die breaks, they do not necessarily change both dies at the same time, if one is still good. So one near the end of its use will have 'working fatigue spread' and deteriorated and produce a slightly larger appearing font, where as the other is newer and be as designed.

    yes I am using a cheap magnifier I just lay it over the coin.
