1992 cent Lincoln's beard looks weird

    Sheila, I should send photos of your coin to Mike Diamond. It is not really worth much except to educate all of us. If a CT member has a 1992 cent, they can compare the beard on their coin with what's left on the OP's. That will determine it the die was touched up by adding detail. My guess, probably not although it looks like it may have been done. In the end, probably just an over polished die.

    Nevertheless, in the 1960's (due to the state of knowledge in the hobby) this would have been given a name like "devil chin" (above) and sold for $3 @ (lot's back then) and collectors would be going crazy over it, searching for one. Sweet Find!

    Who is "narkus?" Each time I call someone out I check my spellin so dat I am not censiderd a pumpus "fool." At the least "narkus" made a POSITIVE addition to this thread. Shame on you @THE BIGDOG. :p
