10 kopeks 1991, copper clad steel. You can see an interesting scrab on reverse: unclear legend "копеек" (kopeks).
I just have the 50 Kopeek and the 1/5/10 Ruble coins, but in fairly nice Unc condition. Do you think there were a lot of these coins minted?
Siberian Man, Is your avatar a portrait of Peter the Great? I'd like to get my hands on a beard-tax token from his day.!
I was curious of you had a sense of how available these coins are. I imagine they would be fairly easy to come by, but have nothing to base that on...other than I have some. I find it's interesting that these coins were minted for less than a month (Dec 1991)...during a very unsettled period.
Thanks Joe is one the greatest modern collectors and he is thinking of quitting and i am trying to make him see the light. maybe you can help?
I found a 5 kopeks (1991) in my collection last night that appears to be copper clad steel compostition. I'll try to get a picture up. Siberian Man. I'm currently reading an excellent biography on him. I've always found Russian history fascinating.
Yes, it"s true. Great History & great rulers: Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, Joseph Stalin etc.
Hi Guys. New here but long time coin collector. Wasnt aware mintage figures on these where unknown. I have a mint set similar to this one - http://www.brooklynantiques.com/coins/russian_silver/ussr_set_1991.htm How much would it be worth? Krause has it listed as $2875?!
The figure can be right if and only if the 1991 20 kopek has no mint mark on it. This is extremely scarce to rare.
