Hi, how do u tell the difference of a 1990 P cent & the 1990 proof cent? Is this 1984 cent off centered? Thank you

Proof coins have a S mint mark
P cents have no mint mark

I'd say it is , but probably not enough to warrant a large premium , interesting though .

Sorry to c your depressed:-( I know proofs normally have an S mint mark, but aren't there coins that are error proofs that are missing the S?

Yes there are 1990 no S cent proofs; but that coin doesn't look anything like a proof cent just a regular business strike minted in Philly.

A proof coin from 1990 will always have mirrored fields with noticeably sharp edges. Even if it has been well circulated those mirrors would show up in the protected areas of the coin such as right next to a device or inside the letters.

The coin itself will actually look quite different from a common business strike.

If you get the chance, visit a Coin Shop and purchase a Proof Lincoln Cent. The difference in the two coins will become obvious.
