My 10 yr old daughter was looking through her coins & just brought me a 1990-D quarter that looks to me like a multiple strike as depicted in the Redbook. I know NOTHING about error coins & would like some help!! It looks like this quarter has went back through the machine and has had a dime (it is PRECISELY dime sized) smashed on top of it, pressing a circular rim indention through washington's head, and the outline can also be seen on the reverse. The inside of the circle/washington's face & neck looks normal. I do not have the ability to post pics, but is this what I think it is?? Thanks, Bill.

Sounds like someone smashed a pipe (or something similar) into the coin. That would be post-Mint damage and the coin would be worth a quarter. Photos would help.

I know you can't get a photo, but without it there is no way of knowing.

Just in case , some folks forget that their all-in-one printers can scan images too.

It's a "squeeze job". The quarter was compressed between a dime and a hard, flat surface, like a vise or a clamp.
