    Hi,

I have an 1990 $100 bill in ciculated, but in excellent condition. (Slight crease in the middle) The serial No# is L43074183A. Is it worth more than a $100 dollars.

    Thanks
    Lance

Ciculated, with a crease. I would say if you dont need a 100 bucks then why not hold on to it. It is cool to have if you dont have another better example of that type of bill. But if you need the money, I would say spend it because its not going to gain in value anytime within the next 20 years. But with that said. I will give you the face value if you wnt to spend it. lol I dont mind holding on to it for 20 or 30 years. If I have that much time left. :)

such a recent note, being circulated, MIGHT find a small $5 premium or so, but most likely not. I would keep it only if i wouldnt miss the $100 - its not like its a star.

they are cool to look at, but $100 can be hard to tuck away and not miss!

dealers arn't paying anything over face value for old styles yet, but if you can afford to keep it, keep it.

Unless that 1990 $100 bill is somehow unique, like error money , or if there were few 1990 $100's printed that year(not the case sadly), or if it's crisp uncirculated, you won't be able to get more than face value from retail stores that buy and sell antique or old money. I as well as anyone in the business, would give you lots of money for bills dating back to the AT MINIMUM, 1930 or 1920s... Gold certificates silver certificates. You might find somebody interested on like eBay. People by about anything these days . But I mean if you think about it, you can spend $30 and get $100 bills that date back to the depression era in circulated condition. They will prob call it genuine meaning the bill will be pretty used & warn but real! I'm not saying that you can't sell it for a premium, some folks could sell ice to Eskimos:) but just know that it will not make you money so don't give anybody extra money for that bill. Someone buying that for more than $100, it's because they can afford to, and they are going to probably save it for a long time if they know what they're doing. it is not worth anything yet, won't be for a while. Happy hunting & I hope you have a successful sales!

Paddyman, what are you doing on an 8+ year old thread? :D I searched up 1990 100 dollar bill because I happened to obtain one the day before yesterday.

There are times I have to steer new members in the right direction. They don't pay attention to details such as the age of the thread or to who they are responding. :wacky:

Interesting that Jonathan has one post (apparently to this thread) and he was member of the site for just one day. Unfortunate that he didn’t find interest in CoinTalk. :(

I am a bank teller and just got 5 $100's from 1990 that are fresh, slight crease, serial #'s in sequential order so I'm pretty sure I am only the second person to have them out of the pack. Probably not worth holding onto?
