I just bought one from my LCS and it came in a red box. I've looked all over the net and can only find that year in blue boxes. I'm just making this thread to make sure nothings fishy. Thanks for any help.
I'll take a pic later tonight, the coin I bought has a hard coin holder and boxes kind of like that but without the cardboard sleeve. I just find it weird I can't find a pic online.
It was only $200, but yes it bothers me enough to make a thread and spend time on google and ebay looking for the same coin. But what can I really do with all these coins that have never been touched by human hands, can't test them..I have a bunch of gold Pandas that bother me even more.
Don't buy them until you know for sure.... Ok, now that I got that out of the way, here's a question for you: Do you have bills to pay? Maybe not. Maybe money is not an issue here. For a lot of folks with families (like me) its hard enough to make ends meet without me throwing down the mortgage payment on a coin that could have arrived on a fast jet from China... What's the rush to snap them up and possibly make a costly mistake? Please do not take this is a critical post-I've just read too many "uh-oh" threads and I don't want you to get sucked into a bad deal. It looks as though your 1990 stands a chance at being authentic, but not every LCS is knowledge about the growing counterfeit invasion. Maybe you will never lose out, but it never hurts to research and ask here BEFORE you buy. Good luck to you, and I genuinely hope your purchases are authentic
