Hi Everyone! I hope to have not wore out my welcome.....but I have another question. Thank you for any input you give. Could the lack of detail and the absence of some letters and numbers be an error or just wear?
How would you tell the difference between having so much grease in the days that it causes it to be soft hit and where in tear ?
just look at the coin, either way its face value, when ones already worn down, how are you going to make a determination if there was grease in the die, its wore out already, how does it matter. it does not, its damaged from circulation. call a psychic.
Whether from wear or a grease-filled die, it is only face value. Grease-filled dies are interesting sometime, but have no numismatic value. Sometimes people sell greasers on e-bay, but only to people who don't know much about coins.
You haven't worn out your welcome, but I would like to make a suggestion. Please use the "Full Image" option when posting your photos. The "Thumbnail" option sucks because it doesn't allow us to click on an image to enlarge it. The "Full Image" does. Chris
I have to say. I am so grateful that I have the AWESOME people in this forum to learn from. A little over a year ago I got involved in coin roll hunting. I watched a lot of YouTube videos. I think back then I posted some pictures and asked about some coins here in this forum. They were not it all what I thought they were from watching the YouTube videos. I kind of set it aside coin hunting and went back to one of my first loves rock hounding. I’ve achieved a lot of success in that area. But I’m not able to go out as much as I used to so I thought I’ll start coin hunting again! treasures, treasure right. But back to my comment. I thought I found some good ones and was going to start selling on eBay. But, I thought first I am going to submit what I think I have found to you guys before I try to sell them. Whew! Glad I did that otherwise I’d be selling it thinking it’s something else when it’s really nothing. That is something I don’t want to do. So thanks to you all. Tina
