1989 D mint mark Doubled?

Let me know what you think of this one ! The MM appears to be offset doubled and couldn't find anything on this!

No. Split plate doubling. It is exposing the zinc core. Spend it before it rots away.

Yes, there is "something" to the SE (you were correct to begin with) of the mintmark and this is in addition to the split plating. However, and even though the shape indeed mimics that of the mintmark (although not exactly), I've a very hard time believing this anything more than a well-placed post mint artifact of some sort. There's just so many things that can happen to a coin, particularly a Zincoln, the odds greatly favor it being nothing.
