Need knowledgeable help about this 89 D found coin roll hunting. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I know I came to the right place! 20190416_020731.jpg picture_2019_4_16_1_46_52_705.jpg 20190416_020844.jpg 20190416_020518.jpg 20190416_020815.jpg

To me it looks like a plating issue, which is very common with zinc Lincoln cents after the switch in 1982. Do you agree @paddyman98 @Rick Stachowski ?

Isn't that a deffinate doubling on his ear tho? I can't tell by these bad pics if there is any doubling on any of the devices.

Pics aren't the best. I do believe it's a doubled ear. Has anyone ever heard or seen an 89 doubled ear?

Does that mean since its not known it can not be a double ear?

No, it means because it is not a doubled ear, that it cannot be a doubled ear. New discoveries happen, but if it were truly a doubled ear, it would be much sharper, as in the edge of the doubling wouldn't look like it's sloped. The sloping effect at the very bottom, among other things, tells me that it's not mint-induced doubling, but I wanted to be sure from one of our experts.

Try and get a better image, now that it's light outside .

Being in that flip doesn't help. I've NEVER been able to take a good picture with that plastic covering the coin.

On the first one I see plating issues. Not a doubled ear.

On the 70 s I think I see slight doubling in the date and "IN GOD WE". I see doubling in liberty but not sure if it's machine, deterioration, or actual die??
