1989 cent looks silver

    Not sure what to think. It looks like it was maybe silver plated. But then Again maybe missing copper layer? But I did notice there are some bubbles in the upper left corner of the obverse. So im not totally sure what to think.

    Plated. If it were all zinc, it wouldn't have any bubbles in it.

    I notice some copper exposed under the bowtie, I think it was plated with zinc over the copper, like the chemistry experiment to make a 'silver' cent.
