1988D penny

    could I please get some ideas on the date and in God we trust am not sure what to make of it. IMG_1689.JPG

    Don't know for sure if this is doubling of some kind or different kinds of errors or maybe nothing at all.

    1st thing I see is Crimping machine damage. When Cents are inserted into a paper roll the ends are crimped and can damage the surface so that is why you see that circle going around the field.

    2nd thing I see on you Copper plated Zinc Cent is the Mint Mark issue. That is a plating issue common on D Mint Marks. It's a small bubble that has nothing to do with Doubling. I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/zinc-deterioration-on-lincoln-cents/

    I don't see Doubling but If you do it's slight MD - Machine Doubling

    Looks like a gas bubble or die chip.
