I came across this 1988 penny this morning. I'm not sure if it is also a possible DDR. But it looks like I see doubling on the word AMERICA.
No Mint Mark means it was minted at the Philadelphia Mint There are no letters on your Cent. Just circulation wear and plating issues that are common on Copper coated Zinc Cents. The doubling is Die Deterioration from a worn Die
It's hard for me to take good pictures using my phone. But I looked at the coin using a ×10 magnifying lense and there are letters I swear. I spent 3 hours just recording everything I found. My ten year old then gave me a 1983 who knows wat mint mark it is cause I think it has all 3. Crazy yes I know but that cent too has letters and numbers everywhere. Here is a picture.
Amigo.. tengo 31 años colectando errores My friend I have 31 years experience collecting Mint Errors.. Your Cent has Circulation wear and tear and Plating issues.
As stated by @paddyman98 you have no mint error take a break from your coins your eyes are making you see things and no I'm not being sarcastic I'm being serious.JMO Dave
I agree. you are crazy. You are making yourself see things that are not there. There is not a person sitting at the mint hand making each penny and having fun doing it. It is machine automated and I forgot how many thousands are made per minute from fixed dies that are not shape shifting to drive every one crazy.
You are crazy - but it's a normal human type of crazy called pareidolia... the tendency of the human brain to try to see patterns in random noise where there aren't any. https://amp.livescience.com/25448-pareidolia.html
Listen to the inputs above, and the term pareidolia is the descriptive term for what you are seeing...
Welcome to the zoo, er, I mean Coin Talk. Pareidolia, it's only human and I'm pretty sure we've all done it one time or another.
