1988 d quarter error

    The reverse is not lined up with the obverse. I think I'm right but I know how that goes.

    That's normal. It's called "coin alignment" and this is how US coins are made. If both sides were facing the same direction it would be "medal alignment" and that would be an error :)

    It should be acknowledged that some countries do use "medal alignment", but the US isn't one of them.

    Look at the bright side! If you find a medal that is produced by the Mint, and it was struck in "coin turn", you have a nice error rotated 180 degrees. They are out there! I have one of the presidential medals that was struck in "coin turn".

    I guess your right. At least I know what to look for. If I find one I will post it and show I know what I'm looking for! Lol!!!
