1987 penny error? What’s wrong with it?

    Since 1982 cent coins are zinc with a thin copper plating. Abrade off the copper and this is what you have.

    Thanks u. What about the rim on the back? It comes up over some of the words..

    Not a mint error. The rim on the reverse reminds me of a dryer coin. Sometimes a coin will get caught between the drum and the wall of a dryer and spin around enough to damage the rim in the way yours looks.
