WHAT ABOUT STAR NOTE DOLLAR BILLS and not sure of this 1978 No P Mint Mark washington quarter are these face value also?
Paper money isn't my thing but the quarter is just a normal quarter with lots of circulation damage over the years.
The U.S. Mint started adding the P mm to nickels, dimes, quarters and halves in 1980. Prior to that all Philly minted coins had no mm (except 1942-45 war nickels and 1979 SBA dollars). It's best to start a new post for new questions. There is a paper money forum for you star note question
I found a 1987 p quarter that appears a bit thicker than others and the p mint mark is closer that the other quarters to washingtons head is that something normal?
I found a 1987 Quarter, missing the "IN" and first "T" from IN GOD WE TRUST. Also, the "DO" from the DOLLAR seems to be messes up a bit as well. Any thoughts?
Welcome to CT. You should start a new thread and post photos but it sounds like the coin was struck through grease or other debris causing this. It's very common.
I found a 1987 P Quarter and the "A" in americA and DollAr are totally filled in on the tops of each A. Is this coin worth anything?
Pam. Welcome to CoinTalk. Pictures are needed to determine what you may have. They could be simple Die Chips which really don't have a premium or even damage.
The red quarter was likely done as a promo thing for an arcade, laundromat, etc. The owners would paint them red, and give them out to facilitate traffic. Then, when the machines are cleared, you know exactly how much money you gave out, so you don't count it as profit
Can someone help me out, not sure if the coin is a double die or not 1987 P Quarter (look at the chin)
The correct term is doubled not double and we need photos of both sides of the coin to give you an honest answer. Welcome to CT.
