Danomite What do you say uh-huh

Zinc rot, PMD, and worn die strike evident by the ridge ring.

What's a ridge ring? The dings along the rim of the coin? Thanks.

@JeffC Here's a photo of a cent with a Ridge Ring. They occur when a die becomes very worn (Deteriorated).

Could be a gas bubble .

    Not a gas bubble.

The copper plating is very thin and it split around the mm during striking. This was common on Denver coins in the 80s. Once the zinc is exposed, if can corrode like a scratch on a car fender. That's what happened to the coins in @paddyman98 picture.

Here is the explanation from error-ref

Sorry, but occluded gas bubbles are strictly only found on solid alloy coins.
