1987 d coin Error

    Both look like Worn Die Strikes with circulation wear and tear.

    But wouldn’t that mean the edge of the penny should be worn down

    I agree with paddy except that I'd imagine that this coin is covered in plating blisters.
    What do you mean the rims should be worn down.
    What about the coin do you think is an error?

    Wear and tear on your coins = normal circulation with some corrosion and adhered crud. Sorry, but there is nothing unusual about either of them

    There is nothing about circulation wear and tear that has to be consistent across the coin. Coin damage is Unlimited, whereas mint errors are Limited.
