James Welcome to CT. It is not silver. It is silver color due to the copper coating being removed somehow or by something.

  3. Thank you very much. Is it impolite to post a group of pix cause I have many coins I have question about but don't wanna be rude

It is your thread one at a time though, so you can specify what your are seeing or questioning. If you could weigh your 87 to the closest tenth that would help in determining if it was some how plated, or discolored, or missing copper plating.

What's the rim look like on both sides ? Is it smashed ? Does the coin have luster on both sides ?

Does the reverse look the same? Could be a valuable. Missing clad layer

I also want to see the Reverse side. But steve.. don't get the OP's hope up just yet! I'm not see it to be a Missing Clad layer

    Peace :angelic:

If it was good, it would be a unplated cent ..

  9. Weighing it is my go to for figuring out certain mint errors , if you have a scale, it should Weight 2.5g for the zinc plated Lincoln
The reverse looks copper is to me hard to tell by the clarity of the pic.
    Thanks for catching that pick!

    An 87 Lincoln should weigh 2.5 g not 2.11
