i was going thru a roll of quarters from the local store and found this.im not sure how many defects there are and even if its considdered a keeper.any help would be greatly apreciated.thanks and good hunting to all.
There’s a keeper here for sure, but not the coin; it’s the lesson learned. Welcome to the forum, sir.
most everything you'll see in circulation is damaged to some extent. if you intently look at each and every coin that you get in your hand they'll have light damage from simple scratch/hit marks in a few places (for new coins) to marks all over them. And if you watch enough you'll see various levels of damage. This one has taken a few heavy knocks of various methods to the edges and such over it's 32 years in circulation. Remember, damage doesn't have to just happen in "one" instance. There's 32 years of constant abuse, and in a few cases very heavy abuse this quarter is showing.
