1985 P Quarter. W God We Trust. Doubling.

    I used my phone. I need to get better photos with my camera when I get home. This coin has so many abnormalities. Something is wrong with the eagles feet, too.

    Well based on your photo's I'm going to say DDD ( die deterioration doubling). JMO

    It's strange how the I and N merged like that. I thought maybe that was something else but I'm no expert, just trying to learn. Thanks for the feedback, we'll probably just save it with our other interesting but not valuable coins.

    The "I" looks like it lost a battle with a coin rolling machine early in its life. It may also have been damaged by whatever caused the rim ding at 9:00

    The I is blotted out because of grease on the die when it was stamped. Still an interesting coin to look at. I would keep it.
