1985 Lincoln Cent Wexler DDR

The mint(s) try so hard to avoid errors etc,but there will always be something for someone to pick up on and another variety.Without error coins,I would be lost.

I've tried to find either a DDO or a DDR with all 3 staging, the best I could find is EDS and MDS and what a difference .

I can only imagine what LDS looks like ....

What would you class this as,if you dont mind me asking.?
It is part of an Unc set.

 

I was taught that MD, is caused from a loose die and once the die is tighten the issue goes away .

I see no split serif, just a loose die .......

On the letters of N & I of UNITED, you can see the split serif on the top right side ..

 

Of course,a loose die in this case kinda makes a juddering effect,and after watching the minting process and the speed those minting machines work,wow.
Thankyou for that.There is so much to learn,loose die's,machine doubling,double die's. and the list goes on and on and on an...... knowledge is key,and a decent pair of spec's eh.
