[QUOTE="DieVarietyNews, post: 1023028, member: 27410"]I came across this 1985-D cent today while searching circulated rolls. It is a new listing for my files now assigned as 1985-D 1c CDDR-001. I emailed John Wexler and he informed me that he didn't have any DDR listings for the 1985-D cents.

Attached are a few photos. The left half of the reverse exhibits some extra thickness to the lettering.

Appears to be a Class II + VIII from a distorted spread towards the center of the die combined with the doubling more pronounced on the right half of the coin from a tilted die or hub. Appears to be a Class II + VIII from a distorted spread towards the center of the die combined with the doubling more pronounced on the right half of the coin from a tilted die or hub. I would say the reverse is probably between a MDS-LDS specimen leaning more to the latter. Most likely a BU full red early die state example will probably show the doubling even much more prominent. The only die marker I could find is a thin die scratch extending between the letters "TY" of LIBERTY. No die markers were detected on the reverse. Also attached is a photo that provides the mint mark position with relationship to the date that may help in attributing. Being a Denver mint issue variety searchers west of the Mississippi certainly have something else to be on the hunt for. Good luck in your searching endeavors.
