I have a 1984-d Lincoln cent that I am unsure about myself with a missing clad layer.
It looks in all honesty like it was acide dipped, but at the same time there is only one tiny dot of copper on the coin. It's circulated and has no luster but the details are still showing through pretty well considering.
The reverse of the coin however, has a layer of green.... I know copper under certain conditions will turn green but I'm unsure what would turn copper dark forest green like this coin.
I will be posting the coin in a new thread but thought I would just say that it could be possible to find a missing clad layer... I've personally never found one, unless the coin I have is one, in which case yay me!
