    Neither a mint or Circulation error. Errors don't occur during circulation.
    Its PMD - Post Mint Damage.
    Someone altered the Nickel somehow. That did not occur at the US Mint.

    As stated damage someone had to much time on there hands.

    its been in circulation for a bit and someone has a done a job on it also =/

    Not an error of any type. Circulation wear and damaged by an individual with to much time on their hands and not enough brains to do something constructive.
