Yes, I seriously just like searching for errors. I live in northern Michigan, I do see alot of Philadelphia mints. So I could see some in my area. It was a big shocker to see double ears. Glad I finally found one. Also glad It was a gimme.
As I said, that's the only picture I have. That pic is about a year and a half old from when I bought it. That seller on eBay, has given me permission to use the pics of what I buy from him, however I want to use them. That pic is from my 2020 eBay list of purchases, and because of it's age, that purchase can no longer be opened or expanded. At least not with my meager internet skills. Perhaps I should start practicing photography again. BTW, I wasn't trying to hijack another's thread. The subject of the thread being "double-eared Lincolns", I thought it was OK, like it usually is, to post our own examples of the thread subject. Please excuse me if I've erred.
The doubling should be exactly the same as the OP's coin. If it's not I sincerely doubt you made a good deal. Sounds like md to me.
Did you know that some of the Doubled Ear varieties also show doubling on the beard, the chin, and/or the bow tie? Just to confirm for myself, I just did more research on the net, including the PCGS website. My claim stands as stated. How much of what doubling you can see on the 1984 Doubled Ear variety depends on the coin you are looking at. Some coins you can only see the ear doubling. On other coins you can see strong doubling on , not only the ear, but also on the chin, beard and bowtie. Perhaps you should also do more research. Thank you.
Wasn't trying to get on your wrong side, but I've also owned one at one time. It's impossible to tell by the pic you posted exactly what's going on. May I ask why you can't take a better picture?
You may and I'll try to give you an explanation that you'll accept, but whether you accept it or not, I don't really care. I know who I am and I know what I do and I don't need anyone else's acceptance to make me feel "better" about myself. I can't take a better picture because I don't know exactly where the coin is. My coin collecting pleasure is derived from searching out, bidding on, and buying certain coins. Once I receive a coin shipment, I inspect it to make sure that it's what I believed I was purchasing, then I put it away, and I tend to lose track of where I put things. So, if I knew right where the coin is, I could take more pics, but I don't, so I can't. No offense, but the effort to find the coin, take pix and post them here, essentially just to satisfy you, is just not worth the effort. Anyway, "That's my story and I'm stickin' to it".
