1984 Cent DDO-007?

I don’t see any others with such a dramatic crack between the columns. Black and white photo is a screenshot of that variety on Wexlers.

    That crack between the columns is a clash.

    I do also. That DDO-007 shows the doubling in the date. Yours does not, thus not the DDO. If the obverse does not show the doubling, one can not just go and try to match the confirmation things such as cracks or others as they do not make it a DDO, especially if they are on the reverse. Sometimes more than one reverse die is used with any obverse die and visa versa. You have to nail the significant part first or it doesn't count, Jim

    The last marker I would rely on for a match would be a crack. They can change easily with every strike. I wouldn't be at all surprised that if someone were (possibly) able to examine every coin struck from every die for a given year, that they would find similar die cracks from the majority of the dies. I would rely on a clash as a marker or a scratch or gouge on a die before I would ever rely on a crack for confirmation. ~ Chris
