1983 Penny.. Is this an error?

    Going through coin jars and came across this.

    I have no idea what the zoomed in images are supposed to be. If you are talking about the line that runs vertically through the date, that is a linear plating blister. Not an error.

    I see what you are looking at. The zoomed in images are from under Lincoln's nose. Not an error coin. Those are plating blisters from the zinc underneath the copper plating, literally rotting. The blisters form from trapped gases pushing up the copper plating.

    If you dont believe me, poke it with a toothpick. The blister will pop.

    Yeah so I did that and it's still solid. I even went up and down with nothing breaking. I put the pick at the middle of the one near the nose pressed hard enough to snap the tip a couple times and nothing. Then I went along the one that goes vertically and nothing scratched off. I don't know what to say. The blister isn't popping...
