Found this. New to error lingo. Can anyone tell me What kind of error it is, if any? Plating error? Gas bubble. Its on both obverse and reverse.

I may be wrong, but it looks like heat damage to me. ~ Chris

Most coins are damaged and not errors.

Coins are the one thing that people give no thought to and get damaged all the time. Imagine if one put their watch, crystal or any other type collection thrown into a hand bag, in a pile in a drawer, car cup holder spilling soda on it, couch or car cushions, etc.

Never right? Except that is the life of coins ....

Well I've had a long time coin collection. Got some colonial coins I think.... Some 1800 coins... Foreign coins from the 1800s as well... Really never had time to go through them. Till now....lol. Got Houston on lock down... As a bartender I'm going stir crazy. In driving my boyfriend crazy with the hours I've dedicated lately. So look forward to sharing my questions and coins.

I need to find a wartime nickel thread... I've got one that's so shiny...almost chrome looking and a nice pretty gloden toning... But doesn't have the full steps. Also got what I think is a 2000p nickel with 100% missing clad layer. Look forward to all the knowledge and advice.

Nickels don't have clad layers. It is probably just toned a copper color or may be struck on cent planchet . They can become to look almost like real copper.Hope this helps you learn

As stated.. Nickels don't have clad layers. They are pure Cupro-Nickel. Environmental Exposure can change it to a darker color.
    Looks like these?
