is this a doubled ear? And how come Lincoln is beheaded is this an overpolished die or a strike through?
It looks like the ear took a hit, not doubled. But the lack of a neck is obvious heavy die polishing.
I don't believe so, but you might want to check sites that list the different double ear varieties. I haven't seen any 1983 examples, but due to them apparently being found over several years, who knows.
