yeah I know. I'm just having fun. Cheech im not perfect either. It's taken me a long time to understand this coin collecting hobby.
Very well done! Without question DDR-001. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1983PDDR001.htm
This picture shows a lot of detail I couldn't see with my naked eye. And here's the obverse just to give an idea of the coins overall condition.
I hate to have to press the like button. That is just a lie. When will we get a love button? It's needed here, lol!
Anyone have an idea what it might be worth? I typically just collect copper cents and am considering trying to sell it to have some money to flesh out my wheat collection some.
It's a very significant variety, and one that will likely continue to be in demand for years to come. For this reason alone, it may be worth it to consider keeping as opposed to selling in order to invest the proceeds into coins that the same cannot be said for. As for value, this is something you will need to look into. It appears to be a fairly solid example that isn't suffering from issues common to this era, which is certainly a good thing. If sold raw you're likely to get less than if in top tier plastic, but the expense of submitting, depending on your personal situation, may not make it a worthwhile endeavor. If you've an established coin selling account on eBay, you're likely to get more attention than if using a low feedback account with no coin history. If selling to a dealer it may not make that much of a difference in the end; all depends. The point is there is no simple answer and is because what is worth it for one person isn't necessarily worth it for the next.
Thanks for the advice. I'll probably keep it for a while at least until I've built up some rep on ebay or found someone interested in it and willing to pay a pretty penny haha. Know where I can find cheap coin holders, just to keep it and my other cents from acquiring additional wear? I'm fairly new to anything other than hoarding wheats and copper memorials.
