Found this coin roll hunting. Don’t know what to think about it. Definitely a minting error I think.

I'm not sure. Across the bust, it looks like a crack, but through the field, it looks like it might be bent, possibly hammered. When you look at the reverse, the details appear mashed in the corresponding area as if it had been hammered.

    I don't know guys. What do you think? @Fred Weinberg ? @paddyman98 ?

looks like it is bulged at the rim (not round any more if you look closely). So happened after it was in a collar/minting process since it's not round. So .... PMD I think.

LIB, especially the L is stretched from the crimp below it.
and there's many indentations on the lower part of Abe's shoulders like a vice type device ... drill and horizontal vises usually don't have grips on them. just flat. So can be many things holding this.

is the coin flat or bent at all ?

Maybe a Lam error on the front, since it's an '83 ???

Definitely lots of marks. The word UNITED partially covered up???

    I'm only guessing.

I see a coin that was pressed after it left the mint. It may have been pressed through something softer leaving some uneven marks. The key for me is that the rim on the reverse at 10 O’clock looks slightly out of round (the area corresponding to the “dent” on the obv.) and that would indicate some sort pressing damage after it left the mint.

Chris’ comments made me stop and think, but I’m still not seeing anything beyond PMD. I’m interested to see what others say
