1983 Canadian cent (is reverse supposed 2 b upside down?)

Hi, I was given this1983 Canadian cent as change @ a gas station. Is the reverse supposed to b upside down, I looked online & got frustrated. Does somebody know? Thank you

If you hold it between your finger and your thumb and turn it the queen and the maple leaf should be right side up..

 

I know they stopped making pennies in Canada, but this is normal though?

 

If you did what I said and got that result, It's normal.

The top of the Maple leaf and the top of the Queen's head should be in the same direction

They r not in the same direction (they r opposite.

Take a pic of both sides in a mirror

 

Bonnie, I'm not sure what your showing me in pic-I see the thickness of coins is different.

 

This is the difference in coin alignment and medal alignment...

 

Ok, so the Canadian penny is not like the US penny?

 

Flip it side to side. Both sides should be upright. That's medal alignment, as opposed to coin alignment used on US coins.
