1983 bie?

    Looks to me like PMD. Also, a BIE is where a die chip between the B and E forms, making it look like an I. Here's one of mine.

    i have 100s of them but i think there all consider BIE even if there between L and the I etc

    I learn something here each day. Didnt know it was called a "BIE". Does it matter the size or shape? I have one with a chip there but it never occurred to me to calll it that

    It's not a BIE error. It may be a die chip but it's not a BIE. A BIE is a die chip between the BE in LIBERTY.

    It's probably close enough to call it a BIE error. It certainly would progress into one.
