So just use normal soap. Dish soap and a old soft bristel toothbrush is what I use on my metal detected finds full of dirt and damaged as your cents are. Let the coins sit in hot soapy water for 5 minutes, brush gently then rinse.
By the way.. Here is a true Cent struck on Dime planchet. Certified from my collection - It has a Cupro-Nickel clad layer and a copper inner core.
This is definitely the type of penny I'd include when rolling pennies in a paper roller and taking them to the bank in exchange for paper currency.
Nice picture can definitely see the distinctions. I have this coin wasn't sure if it has errors on it got it today from pocket change. Appearance looks nice to me,is this coin in good shape? Thanks in advance for all replies.
A lot of the 59's were saved because it was the first year of a new design. If you like it, you can keep it in a 2x2 coin flip. It's only worth 1 cent though.
Never clean your coins!!!!!!!!!!! other than a little soap and water and your fingers to clean off dirt No greenies pads of any kind you'll scratch the coin Leave the cleaning to an expert
First 2 pics before ajax dish detergent/next 2 after ?? Why did the color on back of penny change? Appreciate all comments in advance
What I get from all of the OPs posts are that he just wants to experiment on worthless coins to see what different agents will do to them. Nothing wrong with that, but please make sure they are totally worthless coins before trying to clean them.
