    In 1982 they switched from copper to zinc.
    They minted 17 billion cents that year.
    Some are copper, some are zinc. Yours are copper large dates.
    The 1982 Philly small date is the more desired variety in zinc or copper.
    I am still looking for the 82 P Z sd.

    Thanks 4 the information. I'm new at this. I have 82 Lincoln cents and didn't realize their was so many...would you say this coin is a small date...

    That's a small. Those earlier in this thread, as the other gents have already said, are large.

    Yes absolutely. The small has a very delicate fully formed 2, and the large has a sloppy 2. Photo- Large Small
